The Latino Public Radio Consortium [LPRC] was founded in 2007 with the goal of advancing the agenda of Latinos in public radio. Since that time, we’ve worked diligently to strengthen the capacity of the 42 stations in the system that identify as Latino Public Radio Stations (LPRS). LPRC has provided a range of services, such as, compliance knowledge to help LPRS remain compliant with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting CSG program, enhanced their governance structures, expanded their fundraising strategies, and strengthened the impact of their community engagement work. As such, LPRC has become an invaluable service to LPRS and we are proud of this work. We also realize that we have only just begun to scratch the surface of all that we can accomplish.
Seven years after our inception, the public media landscape has changed tremendously. And now, more than ever, our relevancy depends on our ability to strengthen the influence of Latinos working in public media, for the benefit of the entire system.
